IELTS Speaking part 1 имеет ограниченный набор вопросов. Это означает, что их все можно классифицировать.
Is X popular in your country? — тип вопросов, который часто задают на тесте. Чтобы на него ответить, вам нужно следовать рекомендациям в посте.
Мы с вами рассмотрим разные типы вопросов и то, как можно на них ответить. Это не является лучшим или единственно правильным ответом. Но я вам рекомендую взять их себе на заметку.
Помните, что хорошая подготовка — залог успешной сдачи любого экзамена.
Итак, когда экзаменатор спрашивает вас подобного рода вопросы
- Are bikes popular in your country?
- Is watching team sports popular where you live?
- Is playing sports popular in your university?
- What games are opular In Russia?
- What foods are popular in your country?
Помните, что вопросы необязательно должны начинаться именно так. Главное, проанализируйте саму суть вопроса, и затем применяйте наши рекомендации.
Порядок ответа
- Покажите, что вы понимаете вопрос, который спрашивает о людям В ОБЩЕМ, а не О ВАС
- Говорите о ТИПАХ людей в обществе как носитель
- Поговорите о том КАК МНОГО людей любят делать X
Вам нужно освоить следующую структуру:
- Говорить о типах людей (“People of all ages like to ride bikes”/” Most businessmen own cars”)
- Использовать количественные слова, чтобы показать сколько людей любят X (“I think most people ride the subway” / “The majority of British people drink milk with their tea”)
- Использовать парочку выражений привычки как носитель (“In general, Sichuan people enjoy spicy food”/ “As a rule, older generations are more traditional”)

Шаг 1 Типы людей
Нужно помнить, что страна состоит из разных людей и групп. У этих групп есть разные интересы, хобби и вещи, которые им не нравятся. Поэтому не стоит обобщать и говорить за всю нацию целиком. “British people like to drink tea”
Носитель языка будет прежде всего говорить о группе, среди которой популярен X, нежели чем говорить что все люди любят это. Поэтому лучший ответ будет тот, который не обобщает: “In general, a lot of elderly British people like drinking tea, though there are some who do not like tea”
Теперь давайте рассмотрим, какие группы людей существуют.

Шаг 3 Выражения привычки
Когда вы говорите о многих людях, нужно стараться использовать разные выражения привычки. Тем самым избегая слишком крупного обобщения.
Посмотрите на следующие фразы для выражения того, что люди делают «обычно»
- In general
In general, people in Pakistan like to eat spicy food.
- Generally speaking
Generally speaking, English people don’t really learn many other languages.
- As a rule
It means “generally” and has nothing to do with the rules
As a rule, the older generation tends to be more traditional than the younger one.
- More often than not
Businessmen drive cars to work more often than not.
- Tend to
Most people in China tend to enjoy eating hot-pot.

Interviewer: is basketball popular in your country?
Candidate: Yes, basketball is extremely popular in China. Generally speaking, I would say that the majority of high school and university male students regularly play basketball. As for watching it, I think most Chinese men under the age of, say 30, frequently watch NBA matches. Although it may sound a bit sexist, I don’t believe basketball is very popular with many Chinese women.
Interviewer: Is music popular in China?
Candidate: I think it depends on what kind of music you are talking about. Most people in China listen to music every day. As a rule, the younger generation usually listens to pop, rock and hip-hop music, whereas older people tend to listen to older Chinese songs or folk music. I think many people listen to classical music, sometimes going to live concerts.
